Beyond a single
test result.
The report set also includes care, abrasion, tear and apparel-flammability evaluations. These records answer different questions and are reviewed against the intended application.
Care procedure & post-laundering testing
The polyester NFPA 701 record identifies testing after five laundering cycles. A supporting worksheet records a 63°C water setting and normal tumble drying.
This documents the reported test sequence. Care instructions for a selected curtain fabric, and any further cleaning or retesting requirement, must be confirmed separately.

Three specimens of the submitted 550D nylon were evaluated at 20,000 cycles. The report records no breakage or appreciable wear at that point, using 12 kPa pressure and foam backing.
The report’s conclusion is Low Traffic / Private Spaces under the cited ACT upholstery guideline. It does not establish a High Traffic / Public Spaces rating or a service-life guarantee.

CTT Group evaluated warp and weft tear resistance for the submitted white 550 denier nylon under CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 12.3-2005 / ISO 13937-1:2000.
The report includes an instrument measuring-range qualification. Review the complete record and its remarks when comparing results with a project’s tear-strength requirement.

This classification relates to the reported apparel-textile test. It is separate from NFPA 701, CAN/ULC-S109 and building-material classifications.

Can you supply NFPA 701-tested curtain fabrics?
We can help select curtain fabrics with relevant NFPA 701 documentation and review whether an available report matches the proposed material and configuration. The records listed above are examples for specific submitted materials; they are not a blanket approval of every fabric in our collections.
What if the specification requires CAN/ULC-S109?
Send the required standard and edition with your specification. We will review the documentation needed for the proposed fabric and discuss testing where required. NFPA 701 and CAN/ULC-S109 are separate standards; an NFPA 701 report alone does not establish CAN/ULC-S109 compliance.
Can you help with a custom or specified fabric?
Yes. Share the fabric reference, supplier information, composition, colour, intended use and required test standard. We can review available evidence and discuss material alternatives or additional third-party testing. Suitability and acceptance depend on the selected material and test results.
Does a passing flame test mean the fabric is fireproof?
No. A passing result describes the submitted sample’s performance under the specified test conditions. It does not mean a fabric cannot burn or establish the fire performance of an entire room or installation.
Does the five-cycle result cover every cleaning method?
No. It applies to the submitted polyester material after the laundering sequence identified in that report. Follow the care instructions and maintenance requirements established for the selected fabric; a different cleaning method or material needs its own review.
How do I request the relevant test documentation?
Send the fabric reference, intended use and required test standard by email or WhatsApp. Our team will identify the applicable records and advise what further material information or testing may be needed.
