Q: Does the P-Box require Chowmain?

No. Chowmain is an established Control4 driver option, but the Control4 integrator should choose and support the compatible driver used on the project.

Q: Should the P-Box use Ethernet or Wi-Fi?

Either can be valid depending on the P-Box revision. Sunny prefers Ethernet for fixed professional automation installations when practical.

Q: Should I factory-reset the hub when setup fails?

Not as the first step. DD7002B and P-Box reset procedures are model-specific and resetting can require network and motor setup to be repeated.

Why we say “DD7006 family”: Dooya has released multiple P-Box hardware variants over time. The exact power and Wi-Fi options can differ by model revision. Sunny customers should follow the model label on the supplied P-Box; the pairing, Connector and professional-integration concepts on this page remain the same.

DD7006 reference: Dooya's DD7006 quick-start guide shows an approximately 2-second Program-button hold for pairing. Because Sunny may supply different DD7006-family revisions over time, verify the model label before using any factory-reset timing.

Which one do I have?

DD7002B Smart Bridge vs Sunny P-Box.

Both can bring compatible Dooya motors into the Connector ecosystem. The P-Box is the newer and more integration-friendly platform, while DD7002B remains the correct guide for many existing Sunny installations.

P-Box hardware revisions can change over time. Dooya's 2026 catalogue already shows newer DD7006-family variants with updated wireless capabilities. Sunny support should therefore identify the actual P-Box label before giving model-specific power or Wi-Fi instructions.

Before you start

Put the hub where both network and motor signals are strong.

The hub has to talk to your home network and to the shade motors. Place it indoors, reasonably central to the motorized treatments, away from concrete corners, large metal objects and major electrical interference.

Confirm the exact model.DD7002B and the P-Box use different setup flows and hardware capabilities.

For Wi-Fi, make 2.4 GHz available.DD7002B uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. P-Box networking depends on the supplied DD7006-family revision and can include Ethernet plus model-supported Wi-Fi.

Use the correct app

Install Connector from the official app store.

The iPhone listing currently appears as Connector+, while the Android listing appears as Connector. Use the same Connector account for hub setup, rooms, scenes, timers and supported cloud integrations.

P-Box users: Bluetooth is part of hub configuration. If the P-Box does not appear during setup, confirm Bluetooth is on and that the app has the permissions requested by iOS or Android.

DD7002B setup

Connect the original DD7002B bridge in six steps.

Use this section only when the model label says DD7002B. This workflow uses the bridge's temporary Wi-Fi network and is different from the Bluetooth-assisted P-Box setup below.

Step 01

Create or sign in to your Connector account.

Open Connector, choose Sign Up if needed, verify your email and sign in. Use an email address you can access later for device recovery and smart-home linking.

Open the location settings.

Select the settings control for the default myHouse location. Rename the location if useful, then choose Add New Bridge.

Select visible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

Choose your home 2.4 GHz network, enter the password carefully and tap Connect. Do not select a 5 GHz-only network.

Put DD7002B into setup mode.

With the bridge powered, press and hold its setting button for about 2 seconds. A purple-flashing indicator confirms the pairing workflow.

Join connector-xxxxxx.

When prompted, open the phone's Wi-Fi settings and select the temporary network beginning with connector-. Return to the app after the phone joins it.

Wait for the app to finish.

Keep the bridge powered, stay on the requested network and leave the app open while the bridge completes network setup.

One SSID for both 2.4 and 5 GHz? If DD7002B pairing fails, temporarily separate the bands, create a 2.4 GHz guest network, or disable aggressive band steering during setup.

Sunny P-Box / DD7006 family

Set up the P-Box with Bluetooth first, then complete its network connection.

The P-Box is the newer hub platform we use for new installations and professional smart-home projects. Unlike DD7002B, it uses Bluetooth-assisted configuration from the Connector app and supports Ethernet on the DD7006 platform.

Ethernet installation

For a fixed professional automation project, wired Ethernet is our preferred starting point because it removes Wi-Fi roaming, band-steering and signal-strength variables from the local integration path.

Connect the P-Box to the same local network used by the automation controller.
Power the unit using the method supported by the exact model supplied.
For managed networks, avoid client isolation and unnecessary VLAN separation during commissioning.

Residential / simple setup

Wi-Fi installation

Bluetooth is used during initial hub configuration, after which the P-Box can operate on the Wi-Fi mode supported by the supplied model revision.

Keep the phone close to the P-Box during first setup.
Enable Bluetooth and the permissions requested by Connector.
Use the Wi-Fi band supported by the exact P-Box model label / current Sunny-supplied hardware.

Before setup, photograph the bottom / rear label. Keep the exact DD7006-family model number for future support, firmware and network troubleshooting.

Place and power the P-Box.

Place it indoors, reasonably central to the motorized shades, away from concrete corners, metal enclosures and high-interference appliances. Use the power method supplied for that unit.

Choose Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

For Control4 and larger installations, choose Ethernet when practical. For Wi-Fi, confirm that the router is broadcasting a network supported by the specific P-Box revision.

Turn on Bluetooth and open Connector.

Sign in to the Connector app and allow Bluetooth / Nearby Devices and Local Network access when requested. Keep the phone close to the P-Box.

Add a new bridge.

Open your location / hub settings and choose Add New Bridge. Select the Connector Bridge / P-Box option shown by the current app version.

Let Bluetooth configure the hub.

Follow the in-app discovery flow. If using Wi-Fi, select the supported home network and enter its password. If using Ethernet, keep the cable connected while the app completes hub registration.

Confirm the hub is online.

Do not unplug the P-Box while it completes network or firmware checks. Use the current app status and the model's indicator reference to confirm a healthy connection.

Add one nearby shade first.

Before pairing the entire home, add one motorized shade, test open / stop / close and verify any available position feedback. Then continue room by room.

Update before automation commissioning.

If Connector offers a P-Box firmware update, complete it before final Control4 programming, scenes or timers. Never interrupt power during firmware update activity.

Ready for automation

Program / reset buttons are model-sensitive. Use a short Program-button action only when the Connector or motor-pairing workflow calls for it. Do not perform a long factory reset unless the exact P-Box model instructions confirm the procedure and normal troubleshooting has failed.

Sunny P-Box

Put the P-Box into pairing mode only when Connector asks.

In Connector choose Add New Device / the appropriate shade product type.
Confirm the correct P-Box bridge.
If prompted for bridge pairing mode, hold the P-Box Program button for about 2 seconds.
Release when the indicator begins flashing purple, then continue immediately in the app.

Do not confuse a short pairing action with a factory reset. Reset timing can be model / revision specific, so use the exact P-Box instructions supplied with the unit.

Method A - motor access available

Pair from the motor head.

Select the pairing method that uses the motor or programming button.
Press / hold the motor's P1 button exactly as required by the installed motor model.
Release after the motor jogs or gives the expected audible response.
Complete Pair / Next in Connector and wait for the motor to acknowledge.

P1 timing and motor responses are model-specific. Stop if the product shown in the app does not match the installed motorized blind, shade or drapery motor.

Method B - existing remote available

Copy the shade from its individual remote channel.

Choose Copy from Remote when that option is available.
Set the remote to the individual shade channel — not an all-shades or group channel.
Remove the battery cover and identify the recessed P2 programming button.
Press P2 only when Connector instructs you and watch for the motor jog / acknowledgement.

If several shades respond to the same remote channel, correct the remote-channel programming before copying devices into the hub.

After a successful pair

Test, name and organize before creating scenes.

Test open, stop and close from Connector.
If the motor is bidirectional, confirm that position / feedback behaves as expected for that motor and integration.
Name the device clearly: Living Room Left, Kitchen East, Primary Bedroom Right.
Assign the shade to a room only after reliable individual control is confirmed.

Motor feedback depends on the installed motor type. Bidirectional Radio+ motors can report more useful status information than one-way RF motors. Confirm the motor model before promising percentage or position feedback.

Build rooms, scenes and timers after every shade responds reliably.

Good naming makes voice control, support and future Control4 commissioning much easier.

Read the hub before resetting it

Use the DD7002B LED table directly; use the supplied P-Box model reference for newer units.

DD7002B has a well-established indicator sequence. The DD7006 P-Box family now includes multiple hardware revisions, so Sunny recommends confirming the exact P-Box label before relying on a model-specific LED or long-reset sequence.

Sunny P-Box indicator

Start with three checks before touching Reset:

Check Connector statusConfirm whether the hub is shown online / offline in the app and whether a firmware update is active.

Check network linkFor Ethernet, verify cable and switch/router link. For Wi-Fi, confirm the configured network is still available.

Check setup / pairing modeIf the indicator changed immediately after a Program-button action, follow the current Connector prompt rather than repeatedly pressing buttons.

Do not interrupt updatesIf the app or indicator shows firmware activity, keep power and network connected until it completes.

Why this page does not publish one universal P-Box factory-reset timer: Dooya now has multiple DD7006-family revisions. Sunny support should first confirm the exact label, then use the matching reset procedure. This avoids wiping a working installation using instructions for a different P-Box revision.

Professional automation

Use the Sunny P-Box as the preferred local bridge into Control4.

Dooya lists the P-Box platform as compatible with professional automation systems including Control4, Crestron, ELAN, URC and RTI, with local LAN / WLAN API support. For a Control4 project, first make the P-Box and every shade work correctly in Connector, then commission the automation driver.

Troubleshooting

Fix the hub layer before blaming the shade motor.

Start with the model label and LED state. Then isolate network setup, motor pairing and third-party automation as separate problems.

DD7002B will not join Wi-Fi.Check5 GHz-only network, hidden SSID, wrong password, weak signal or band steering.TryUse visible 2.4 GHz, move near the router, re-enter the password and temporarily simplify router settings.

Reset is a last step — and the procedure is model-specific.

Never use DD7002B reset instructions on a P-Box, or vice versa. Before resetting, record the hub label, device names, rooms, scenes, timers, network method and motor models. A factory reset can require the complete setup to be repeated.

How can I tell DD7002B from the P-Box?

Read the model label on the hub. DD7002B is the original Wi-Fi Bridge used in many existing Sunny installations. The newer P-Box is a compact DD7006-family hub with Bluetooth-assisted configuration and Ethernet support.

Why does DD7002B setup ask me to join connector-xxxxxx?

That temporary Wi-Fi network is part of the DD7002B setup workflow. The newer P-Box uses Bluetooth-assisted hub configuration, so you should not expect the same connector-xxxxxx step.

Which hub should I use for a new Control4 project?

Does the P-Box require Chowmain?

Does every P-Box use exactly the same Wi-Fi and power specification?

No. Dooya has released multiple DD7006-family revisions, and newer catalogues show updated variants. Always use the exact model label on the Sunny-supplied P-Box before giving model-specific power, Wi-Fi-band or factory-reset instructions.

Can DD7002B still be used if I already have one installed?

Yes. DD7002B remains the correct setup path for existing Sunny installations that use that bridge. There is no reason to replace a stable working hub simply because the P-Box is newer.

Why is motor position feedback different from one installation to another?

Feedback depends heavily on the motor and receiver. Bidirectional Radio+ motors can report status that a one-way RF motor cannot. Confirm the motor model before promising percentage or real-time position feedback in Connector or Control4.

Why can Control4 fail to discover a P-Box that works in Connector?

The native app and local Control4 discovery are different layers. VLAN separation, AP/client isolation, multicast filtering or managed-switch configuration can block local discovery even while cloud/app control still works.

Should I factory-reset the hub when setup fails?

Usually not as the first step. Record the hub model, LED / app status, network method and motor details first. DD7002B and P-Box reset procedures are not interchangeable, and resetting can require the installation to be rebuilt.

What should I send Sunny Shutter if setup still fails?

Send your order number, a clear photo of the hub model label, a short LED video, the phone type, the exact Connector screen where setup stops, the router / internet provider, whether a P-Box uses Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and photos of the motor and remote.

Still offline after the model-specific checks?

Send the DD7002B or P-Box model label, LED video, network method and failed Connector screen before performing a reset. For Control4 projects, also include the integrator's network and driver details.
